    9mm WWII ammo

I recently came across the holy grail of ammunition. Out of all the years I have been collecting WWII German weapons I have seen boxes and even sleeves. I came up with a case, even though it is pieced together from complete sleeves from various runs. It seems it was collected in the early 60's by a gentleman that was stock piling ammunition for his collection of automatic weapons. I have a good friend that actually picked up a stock pile and I was lucky enough to secure the one full case of 9mm in the bunch. Most of the ammo was sealed or cased 7.92 tracer and armor piercing mg42 ammo.

My apology for the cell phone photo's. I haven't had a chance to set the case I own up for photos yet. The other photos are of the ammunition my friend still has.

This isn't shooting ammunition, as Jethro would say this is "lookin ammo".

LOL, This stuff is all corrosive primer ammunition and requires you clean the weapons very well after shooting. One of the reasons so many WWII handguns have terrible bores.

          I kid

corrosive or not it's worth too much to shoot. make a nice display

if you feel like parting with a box it would compliment my wife's third reich pistol collection

            NICE!

            These are awesome, collectables!

The armor piercing ammo looks vicious with that gray tip.

            The sealed box is awesome.

            Jealous!

I am circling empty boxes for sale, so that I can start piece-mealing sealed assault packs together, to fill one eventually.

Congrats these are great for your collection.

            Pit.

Interams imported millions of rounds of WWII German ammo from Finland in the 1960's; a lot of which which was 7.92 that ended up being consumed by MG-34 and MG-42 owners as 'shootin ammo over the years. I suspect that your case probably came in via Interarms, so take a close look at the wooden box and see if it has "INTERARMS" stenciled on it. I have an empty wooden box like yours (except it held 9mm ammo) that came in via Interarms and is so marked on the rear of the box.

              Nice find.

Alan you have the time period correct but I'm not sure who the importer was. Everything I find on it looks as though the ammunition was shipped out of Europe around 1954-1955. There were some labels affixed that have been removed at some point. In a couple of the boxes they had shipping information to a gun store in Dallas with those time periods listed as well. The case of 9mm is a mix match of different sleeves but all are unopened.
