Mike, Sounds to me like you're the one with the inaccurate information......Hambone (aka Kapt. Krabs) was expelled from this site.....I highly doubt it was for being a welcome addition to the forum.....Nice try though.....'Nuff said.....Bodes

Here's a thread that will show you how others feel about your boy....

I wasn't a fan of that site. I posted an ad looking for a G.41 box mag (yeah I know...join the club, right?) with no replies. I come back 3 months later to try again and I get no warning banned. Terrible forum with a very minute volume of contributors run by imbeciles.

When I login, I get this:

You have been banned for the following reason:
      Posting unwanted spam

Date the ban will be lifted: No current information

I think the GK43 site is back up as usual - I like it over there.

But, also the collecting of G or K43's is sort of a rarified and rather specific hobby, don't you think? - it rather seems only natural that it is a less visited site, I am OK with that - but then I collect G43's and G41's and rather like the fact not everyone knows what they are.

Usually the Fg42 replica posts put up by Rick Smith at SMG or discussion on the PTR44's are more travelled and visited than anything on the G43 or G41 series of rifles.

But if you have questions about those older German rifles, it is a great sounding board, just less travelled.

Sorry, you had a bad experience with the spamming accusation, I can only imagine it was some sort of automated reply, give them another chance.
But, be aware that G41 spare parts are hard to come by, but they do turn up, and that site has proved to be a treasure chest for me in that respect - I simply would not have finished two of my rifles, period.
The only repro G41 parts I've seen come from France, with the improbable and rather unfortunate name of :http://aassniper98.com/

        Good luck,

        Pit.
*I feel very bland, I don't seem to have anything but pleasant experiences on any of these sites, and can really say they have increased my knowledge, interest and number of friends - I do however feel no compunction to say anything when someone is clearly having a bad day, lol.

Nope, my info is accurate. You're jiving and shooting at a target you know can't respond. That's not how truth is reached. You can't blame 'bone because we all quit. He just quit as supermod first. That site suits you more than the rest of us and that's dandy. I'm glad you have a special place to smooth your feathers .

Also Bodes, Ive got no beef with you and you should take that up with people who "ruffled your feathers" directly. If the truth and reason are on your side, man up and go openly address it with bone. He wont censor or ban you and you know that. Take care Bodes.

GK43.com is my favorite gun forum site on the web. I've only met a few a-holes there and they either don't stay around long or tend to be rarely seen.

The only people I consistently see at gun shows with a lot of really nice collectibles are old white guys, who must be way beyond their peak.
I agree and your sarcasm has demonstrated how rediculous the original comment really was. Learning has always been a multi channel endeavor. Before the net we read all we could, attended shows and auctions to study items with hands/eyes on and network with fellow collectors. Visited collections and had frequent dinners and drinks with collector friends. Used that contraption called a phone and snail mail to further network and learn from collector friends world wide. Today we have some new tools the net and forums. Both can be great depending on how you use them but IMO not replacements for all those old tools - just supplements. Frankly, I have learned more over dinner and drinks with collectors friends than I have ever learned on the net. A lot more fun too. Maybe just me though.

The original comment was to inform general new collectors that having a title of "collecting for over 40 years" doesn't make them a superhero and exempt from making mistakes. I have seen it first hand several times.

Your original post here relies on amazing assumptions and the “sweet spot” learning plateau you suggest is incredible. Hopefully newby’s will recognize all this and take the advice with "a grain of salt." FWIW - my experience has been that for every 40+ year collector I have seen make a mistake I have seen multiples of collectors with less experience make more horrific mistakes. Same general observation applies to 30+, 20+, 10+ year collectors. Given equal intellect, observation and processing skills - I'll bet on more experience over less every time. That’s how it tends to work in real life anyway. As to superhero’s – I haven’t met one yet and am pretty certain I never will. But then Kool-Aid has never been and never will be my beverage of choice.

Bones, did you ever address your beef to the source so your issues would be openly addressed with open discussion? Is GK taking registration of new members?

with comments of prejudice like this:

Not to get too far OT but take the 40+ years collecting with a grain of salt. I have seen many 30-50+ collectors make horrendous mistakes. I think the sweet spot in collecting is around 20years..

I think regardless if you were banned for spamming OR NOT , its likely they banned you correctly, and should do the same for here as you seem like a troublesome collector who has no common sense AND JUST MAY cut off your own nose to spite your face .

You my friend will be old some day too, then YOU will be lucky if you have a pot to P_ _ _ into once collectors know you are of the disagreeable sort that not only hates the old timers for no reason , and needs to be passed by when anybody is selling anything of real value in guns, as you just may be one with a bad attitude.
It is the aged collectors who have socked back much of what you seek, and I hope you find they sense your hatred for the older collector and avoid you like the plague(good thing they dont know who you are, but that doesnt matter, you will be found out by your own valition), and sell their collectibles to the more deserving who will take care of their items for the next collector. .

20 years is the sweet spot in life, not collecting, as most 20year olds cant find work or collectibles without us older collectors, so I take offence to your comments , as do all other collectors with more than 40 years of tenure who are too polite to say so as age is somethig we cand do nothing about but live through, and one more thing, we didnt have shared knowledge when we started, and few knew much about this stuff, and is always a hobby that is never ending in study and knowledge to learn about, and you are fortunate they share what they know with the likes of you. I bet a few guys here will pass on your questions in the future , recalling your prejudice against the very collectors who are the earliest collectors , and the sons of the WW2 vets themselves you should respect, and mistakes are common being human, but maybe you know it all ....RIGHT!
