I have never seen a 43 selling for less than $1500 that was worth buying..

The closest I got was an all matching 43 with that dry un-touched stock for $1800. I tried to get him down to $1600 but he ended up selling it for $2000.
It didn't come with a mag, and the issue with it was it had heavy brown frosting over the gun like it sat in the basement forever. Condition didn't bother me as it had the stock and look I wanted, untouched right out of the closet (basement in this case).

I still don't have one and probably never will. I will not settle for a sanded stock if I pay that kind of money...

I was of the opinion that prices were not as high as they were a few years ago, but one of the last few auctions makes me scratch my head. Take a look at this one - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=258192093 The stock appears lightly sanded as the serial number on the stock is faded, someone dinked with the mount bar putting a series of "dots" in it and then also screwed a hole through the rear sight. I would have paid 3K for it mainly cuz of the avx magazine and the receiver type - however 4 people were willing to pay 3.5K+. Hard to convince any seller of a nice G43 to accept 1K if they had seen that rifle go for 4K.

This thread needs some G43 porn, so I will show again my pics of some nice and no so nice G/K43s.

Very nice Roger.... As many of us know, you better have 4K ready when a nice G/K.43 comes across the bow if others are paying attention.

I would concur with others that G/K.43 prices regularly go for the $3k + mark. I don't know where these people are saying they're finding nice examples for $1,000, but if I knew where that was, I'd be buying as many as I could afford outright, and then resell them for a hefty profit.

These rifles began to escalate over the last decade, and while they may dip again, this is what they seem to go for now.

Somebody said below (perhaps it was rogerbh), that if you post anything on the internet, there will always be somebody to tell you how you got screwed over or ripped off on price. This couldn't be more spot on. Without fail, regardless of the deal you think you got, there will always be somebody who got a better deal if you look long and hard enough.

I'm not paying a penny more than the $59 quoted in the ad:

whats a guy looking to pay these days for an OK g43? Something that could be occasionally shot, and looks nice. Doesnt have to be all matching.

                      I'd agree, $2,000.

That ad is sick btw. What year is that from?

There were ads from Guns Magazine in July 1968 that had G43s for $59.50.

I provide you with current GB price on a mismatched G43 on Gunbroker. $1725.00.....so..... I was wrong in my estimation of current market price of same. I was in the bidding on this gun, as I thought I should put my money where my mouth was. When he bumped it up I perused his feedback and determined that he was likely a big money guy and very specific in what he bid on. I didn't have a huge hard-on for the gun so I backed out. FYI

I paid 1650.00 for mine about 8 months ago, its all matching except that part of the dust cover has broken off and someone screwed the rail cover to the scope mount. It still has the sling, front sight hood, and the cleaning rod. It's a bcd built G43 by the way, not sure if I over paid or not.
