    My very first Walther...

...is a 1938 PP 7.65mm pistol rig. Original, all-matching, and non-import-marked, it doesn't get better than this -

Here are some close-ups of the pistol itself showing quite a bit of the original polished blue finish (except for the high points due to holster wear) -

The rig came with a flat-bottom magazine and a spare with the finger extension. Both are wartime issue as indicated by the caliber markings in addition to the Walther banner logo -

And, last but not least, a DRGM stamped holster that, unfortunately, has seen better days -

Then again, the pistol is not pristine so the condition of the holster is not an unreasonable match.

All-in-all, I am very pleased with my first foray into collecting some of the smaller German and Axis Power pistols.

So, what do you guys think?

    Nice rig.
No reason to believe that the mags were not originally supplied with the gun.

I was thinking the same thing about the magazines likely being issued along with the pistol.

Actually, I wish it were an estate grouping. But, alas it is I that put them all together. The pistol rig came together, the original photograph is one I had in my collection, and both the Iron Cross and Breast Eagle were more recent acquisitions. In fact, I have our very own KonradR to thank for the excellent Iron Cross.

                Tim very nice PP,

yours looks like the mid end of the run in 1938 by SN, The grips look like the weighted type to me by the color and over all look or it could be the lighting.
I have two from 1938 one has the weighted grips the other dose not. Yours may have got some of the left over stock. i had read they stoped in 1937 with that type

my early '38' 981xxx has them and the later 153xxxp dose not. BTW nice pics

                steve,

When you get a chance, you should start a thread yourself. I'd love to see pictures of your HSc pistol. Perhaps that will be the next one I look to acquire, just as soon as I pay off this one .

Great find! Don't ever break that collection up. With vets unfortunately dying off more than ever before, we're in the hay day for finding treasures like this. If only we knew the story behind it.
