Hello, I have a holster almost Identical to yours. If I remember correctly a Czech Vz-30 flare pistol ( not police marked ) came with this.

      Hallo signalman!

Do you have photos of your holster, any markings?

Howard, I tried to put my Vz30 LP into a 1936 dated police leather LP holster and there was no way it would fit. The breech lever and hinge impeded any attempt to insert it. The holster would not accept that extra width of the gun. Try yours again. Perhaps my leather holster shrunk?

Hello Joe, My Vz-30 1939 fits like a tight glove, and there is more wear on the outside of the holster on the right side where the bulbous hinge is. It did come with the Vz-30.

However, It is possible that this style holster could also have been used for the shortened model Heers made primarily for tear gas use.

My holster is not minty, it has seen lots of use, so it is possible mine stretched a bit with the Vz-30 in it.

Perhaps the holster in the beginning was made for the Walther long barrel modell in steel and the holster was later modified shorter to fit a LP -34 or a LP-42.I expect wehrmacht had a lot of "Long holsters" left, after the barrels where shorted.

The holster is not adapted from a standard size holster as there are no holes for the cleaning rod retaining strap found on most holsters of this type.

My holster is missing one shoulder strap ring, and some stitching, but if the stitching was present the Vz-30 would still fit.

Now that is an interesting holster Howard? I can see how the Vz30 fits in there. Comparing it to one with provision for the rod, is gusset larger and all other leather parts cut the same? Would seem that it was designed for the Vz30. Does a regular LP from Erma or Walther swim in the holster?

What does a Czech holster for the Vz30 look like or was there any?

The Heer model is a shade too long to fit in this holster, The LP-42 will fit just fine. It does not swim in the holster. The LP-42, however, was not in existence in 1940, so the holster must have been designed for the Vz-30 or something similar.

If Christens holster ever comes up for sale, I would be interested so I can upgrade mine.

I have not seen a Czech made holster for the Vz-30
