Nice gun, I like it..

Looks like the band spring slipped under the lower band..

That sling "stud" is odd. I wonder if this is a DDR??

I like it and I don't think Bubba set his hands on it.
Other than the sling studd everything else seems fine, at least to me.
The helmet looks superb!

Certianly nice lot....I think you'll find this was a "duffel bag" cut rifle (under the handguard band- that's the reason the front band has slipped back 1/2" or more than normal and why the band spring is under the mid-band, too! (If not cut must be "smoshed" alittle)....

Not unusual for bring backs to be mixed numbers.....many were reworked and reissued or mixed in the field.....plus GIs would "pull bolts" on surrendered Mausers....then other GIs put them back together for salvage or souvenirs....

That stock shouldn't be numbered. Look for an eagle under the wrist..

Whats the number on the front band look like?

I like it alot and that is a original stock I have one almost just like it myself. In my eyes those are one of the nicest style stocks there is in my book. With the laminated stock the red vains lookbway cool I think gives the rifle some jazz I think. By the way what a nice friend you are a lucky man to have a friend like that.

well if that's the condition he brought it back from europe in I don't care if it's non matching...it's 100% correct.
