This is a nice looking late war commercial Walther PP. The red/brown grips are found as well as the wooden grips in this serial range.
Nice looking holster as well! Any markings on the holster?

        Ken,

Yes, all the Walther PP had the commercial proofs (either "eagle/N" or early "crown/N"). The pistols were purchased by the military/police right off of the commercial production lines.
If it was accepted by the military it would have the military waffenampt, in the case of this PP, it would be "eagle/WaA359".
If it were accepted by the police, it would have a police proof marking, such as "eagle/C" or "eagle/F".

No problem Ken! I assume this is the same pistol you asked me about before you got it? If it is, I think you did well. It's a very nice commercial PP, and the holster is lovely! A good find!

My PP is in the 307XXXP range and has the same red SA shooting team grips. As best as I can determine, they were leftover grips at the factory and they were just using whatever they could.

Talked to a long time Walther collector about the grips. He said the story about the grips first being used on SA shooting team PP's came through Dieter Marschal, and was pretty well accepted. He also said that the grips show up again randomly in the 330000 to 360000 serial number range as standard grips.
