    I thought this would be an interesting piece to add to my collection. It sends a chill down my spine just looking at it!

      Yeah not its time to add the rest of the gun. Those M53 (MG42 copies) can't be beat for that price.

        Nice piese - its actually a "Recoil amplifier". The MG42 needs more recoil to funktion.

            Thanks to all for your comments and information. I don't know that I'll be able to piece together or own the rest of the gun, but I'll have to take a look at those MG 42 copies! For now this is a cool conversation piece in my humble collection.
