This Mauser pistol was recently acquired from the family of a deceased US WW2 Army Air Force Officer.
They knew little of the pistol other than it belonged to him.
It is quite interesting in the fact that it has a custom made leather case that was made by a Company by the name of "Friedman-Shelby" here in the Midwest that was owned by International Shoe Company in the early 40's.
Friedman-Shelby manufactured leather shoes at that time.
Perhaps this custom case was ordered by the Officer to carry this weapon concealed during the War.
