        Ron,

        It's a nice Mauser Model 1914 in .32 ACP. A great addition to the collection for sure.

        As you know, the gun can be a war trophy brought back by the veteran.

        On the other hand, it also could be a personal gun, purchased before the war and carried as a concealed/back-up pistol. Its serial numbers put its production as something around 1922-23, so the theory of a private purchase is reasonable (although I could not see the "GERMANY" import mark, as it would be expected for a commercial gun sold in US).

        Oh well, just guessing...

          It was probably a commercial purchase, and it couldve been carried during the war or it couldve been a post war purchase. We will never know.
