    Ron,

Did the veteran hold the rank of General in the Canadian Army during WWI, or was the rank acquired later in his career? Do you have any details of his WWI service, i.e. battles he participated in?

I love the nostalgic look and character of this pistol and setup. Very historic looking.

            Thanks for posting, Frank

These Lugers came with 2 matching clips, which is very rare today to find them with both still. ( it would triple its value). What is interesting to me is that you have 1 of the matching clips still and the other is not matching, but only 2 digets off. Sometime shortly after it was issued, it was mixed-up with one from the same lot of Lugers.

Nice thought but totally untrue. The original matching magazine is a proofed Erfurt magazine and numbered as the pistol 1170a. The second magazine is a DWM magazine and numbered 8911.

Nice rig and a very striking portrait.

Is his uniform still intact/in the family?

The grips screws are Erfurt proofed which are getting harder to find.
