Sorry for joining this post late as I've just recently begun my interest in the SS issued PPK's. Can a member please send me the picture of the fake #840312 PPK so I may learn the difference? You can send private message if you don't want to contaminate the post. Thanks

John thanks very much. Yes it is fairly obvious once you see the real thing!

Do all ss ppk's have to be marked RZM on the safety side of the pistol or not? thanks

              Patty D,

No not all SS PPK's were RZM marked.

There was an early SS attributed PPK with the RZM and there was a RZM version without being SS attributed. And also there are of course are several SS variations by themselves.

If you have an interest in these SS PPK's, I might suggest that you secure the new 'Black Book' by Steve Stepan which is an excellent book exploring all of the SS PPK & PP variations with many pictures. (see below)

              (available direct from the author)
The price is $35.00 plus $4.00 shipping.

              Best Regards,

                Thanks John!

I will definitely check out that book!

I've actually just bought a ww2 ppk. It has a high polish finish, and is double serial numbered. I don't think it is anything special (ss), but I haven't a clue But it is a nice example IMO, and it has the finger extension on the mag, which I like!

                Many thanks,

                Patrick

Is the price of the new Gold edition the same as for the Black edition ($35 & $4)?

                        Thanks.
