Much good input here friends !! Thank you each one for your personal views/ideas. My mind is now clear... This old bird will remain just as it is. Warts and all. if nothing else, a good instructional piece for newbies like me.... I'll put it out on the table at the next gun show, and see if anyone asks any questions. Maybe someone will like it enough to take it home!!

Good Job Guys !! I appreciate it !!

      Ronny,

This was a tough call. My personal opinion is; leave it as is. However, that is not the opinion of the majority of collectors out there. If you are planning on selling it, then I would say, get it restored. Even though I don't agree with it, the majority of collectors out there like "pretty" guns. They don't care if they are restored or not!
Trust me, I've been down this road before several times, and a restored gun will sell much quicker/easier/for more $$ than an ugly gun, no matter how rare it is! I don't agree with it, but it's true!

Just remember my AC40 with matched mag!?!? Nobody here would even buy it! I had to sell it for peanuts at a local show! Then there was the old beat up Krieghoff commercial rework I had. Again, nobody here even wanted it. So, I pulled the trigger, and had it restored. After that, it didn't even make it to the estand!! I just posted photos of the restoration on the forum here, and had a flood of offers to buy it!! For much more $$$ than I was planning on selling it for (even with the restoration cost included!!!)

So, to sum up again, my opinion is, leave it alone. If you are planning on selling it, then I would definately get it professionally restored. I know a great guy to do the job too! Just shoot me a PM if you need his number?
