    Why just a Mauser marked one? I have a dot 1944 ser. no. 7467ab
    that has a 214 marked plate and guard. It has been duffel cut but
    it is all matching except from the rear band forward. The plate is also
    serial no. 7467.

      Yep, it's a 5-digit serial. As for your other observations, yep, this model used a wide variety of parts.

        I would to see this type of floorplate´s on a late war K98 type.

        Rifle is a 5 digit but floorplate has the last 2 numbers.

          Your photo shows the correct serial number for mid to late byf43 and early byf44 rifles.
