Hello forum...
I bought these items at a yard sale today.
They said they had some old rifles in a shed.
Not sure why they would put Grandpa's collection in the shed... but... I bought the four guns.
They wanted $400 for the lot... so I went for it.
Two look like Civil War rifles. One is dated 1835, the other 1864. An old double barrel shot gun... and a WWII Japanese Arisaka.
I believe the Arisaka is a Type 38. Heavy as heck for such a small gun. Bolt is fussy, and the mum is gone. Also... a split in the stock in addition to the typical two piece butt.
Any idea as to a value on the Civil War era rifles? I heard old shot guns are fairly worthless.
Thanks for the help... Robert
