A local doctor bought a couple of the Mitchell's Lugers a few years back. They had to be sent to the local gun shop, and I got to see them there. They were terribly refinished with force matched parts. The gun shop tried to get the doctor to send them back, but he insisted upon keeping them. They explained that he could get the real thing for less than what he was paying for the Mitchells, but they came in a nice case with a small book which must have impressed the doctor.

      To offer an experience:

A few years back my dad and I called them as a joke to see what they would say about their "Original K98 Sniper Rifles." We were friendly to them, asked what any interested buyer would say and the guy (probably college student-aged) sounded truly annoyed and just overall unfriendly, though he did answer everything, in a monotone voice. After we finally asked the price, he answered, we thanked him, and he hung up after that word was uttered.

How about that? "Lifetime-opportunity" rifles coupled with "quality" service!

I am glad that I dont buy any Mauser rifles or German pistols from Mitchell"s. I had seen their big ads in Shotgun News and other forearms-related magazines before. From reading that thread that I wont buy anything from Mitchell's Mausers. Thanks for this info!!!
