Might the grenade handle and blank rounds be from a past reenactment?

      Sorry for the late reply

Anyone know if they have done reenactment on the hill? It seems possible that the rounds would be from some sort of thing..

        Just noticed this resurrected thread.

The grenade spoon in post #7 is from a 1950s Danish or Swedish hand grenade. The spoon from post #12 is from a post-war U.S. M49A1 trip flare. Hope that helps, even if if a bit late.

Maleme airfield is still an active Greek military base. It is right across the street from Hill 107. I doubt it was an honor guard for the German cemetary. Their events, the last one I attended was in 2001 for the 60th anniversary, are rather low key. So, it could be from training or re-enactments. They held a rather large one in 2001. Plus, it was stated these items were not found in the cemetary but rather the approach to it.

"Ordnance", thanks, it really helps since I havent been sure about what it was. The only thing left now is the "shrapnel" piece... I have no idea about when it could be from, but as I said, I found it on the beach just below Hill 107.

Willi, you are right, I found them on the paths leading up to the top. . and since the military activity in that area, it could from training.
Great help everyone, no chance I could have got so much info elsewhere! Thanks
