    Man,

This is a great PPSh41 - a really nice one, in great shape. Most I've seen up to now were very weary but yours seems to be with good amount of its finish. Please, show us a picture of with with the curved 35-round magazine. I found it sweet as well!

These babies were not only the scourge for the Germans: US Infantrymen had to deal with during Korea War and, later, in 'Nam.

    Greetings,

    Douglas.

I understood from the seller that he purchased it from an elderly
gentleman that has had it for several decades. I need to ask him
more of the history of the weapon, though. I'll let you know.
Doug: I'll take some pics of it with the stick mag and post them.
I feel fortunate to have an original Russian WWII vintage one in
such great condition....I don't know where the 6 million made during
WWII up, but most are not in the collectors' market in the U.S., sadly.
Probably in the arsenals of Eastern-block countries, still...

We had those in the arms room at Ft. Devens. A lot of fun to fire for sure.

          Pics with stick mag...

Doug; here are a couple of pics with the stick mag.
Don; Agreed. Much fun. For anyone who has never fired one, you are
          missing a real treat !!!
I call your attention to the magazine well/trunion area: Look at how
crudely that area is made. Hammer marks where the makers beat the
metal into submission. Not the finely crafted we are used to seeing with
German-made weapons: but that was thier strength !!

That was a nice one, too bad you had to get rid of it. Well, soon you
will get to experience mine in full-auto baby !!! Man, what a rush !!!
Safe travels for the UK !!!

I've had the pleasure of shooting them- nothing quite like it. It's like having a half size MG42 in your hands. The backblast is typical of Russian MG's though- right in your face....mmm mmm good!

                      Capthoot,

Thanks for posting the pictures with the curved magazine.
It makes it look a lot different. But I agree with the others: it is more "sexy" with the drum magazine.

                      Congratulations once more!

                        Mike.
That's a great way of summing this puppy up !!! Lots of firepower in a
little package....people are surprised after seeing this weapon fire, that
are not familiar with the weapon, that it goes like that !!!
Maybe that's the secret of the love affair between it and soldiers down
                        through the ages...
I agree, Doug. A drum mag on just about any weapon 'ups' to cool
                        factor, indeed...

Very nice Papashah! I had two at one time(dated 1944 and 1945) that while mechanically 100% were without finish. They shot like a dream however! The Germans had a saying about the weapon that if you were hit by one you would be hit by ten(meaning bullets because of the accuracy and high ROF).

                            Thanks Gary.
That's an interesting, if somewhat scary, antedote !!!
The only thing is I'm not being shot at....
