    Bond Girl

The PPk is the sexiest handgun ever. You might disagree, but 007 didn't.Classic Bond loved to carry his PPK(S).If James was a Party member you know he would have slipped this girl under his pillow. My favorite Bond girl is Pussy Gallore.........HHHmmmm,what should we call this beauty?Anyway ,do you need to know the history?OK I'll keep it brief. The RZM controlled manufacture for items for the NSDAP.The PPK was the honor weapon of the political leaders.RZM PPK's were produced between 1934 & 1936.I hope you like my "Bond girl"

Here is a cool shot.Compare the RZM to the PDM(Munich Police-450 made). The PDM has these special features:
        -Aluminum frame
        -Barrel bushing and special slide
        -Bottom mag release
-PDM marking on frame with last 3 digits of serial#

Very very nice photos! And nice Walthers! However now I'm curious:

What the story with the PDM? Polizei Dienst München, I guess? Did the police force in München have them made specially for them only? When were they produced?

                  Hi P08,
Himmler controlled the Munich Police Directorate from 1933.The PPK PDM was a special, made to order, run of pistols. They were produced in 1937.They are rare.

Ok so all PDM are 1937. Thanks for the info. I've never heard of such PPk's until now.

                          Hi Jason,
                          A couple of beautiful PPKs!
While on the Bond theme, how many out there are aware that the Walther held by Sean Connery in the early Bond posters is a Walther .177 air pistol - the LP (Luft Pistole) 53.
                          Regards,
                          Grossfuss

Jason, the RZM is a super condition gun and a late serial number, so made well past 1936. How is the strap attached to the holster? A metal bracket through the belt loop. Very interesting.

The PDM PPK mag release design continued the Bavarian penchant for bottom release that they required in PDM Sauer M1913s.

It is difficult to accept the 1937 production date given the fact that the Himmler nationalized the police in June 1936 and began to issue weapons with national police markings: E/K and so forth. Why would a private contract be issued that late to a police administration in Munich when the Himmler had already established an arms procurement department within the Ordungspolizei. By that time, Himmler was gone from Munich to more important matters in Berlin.
