Thank you Jason for the great photo. What a fantastic holster set. I have to share this with another holster collector friend. Do you think it a private purchase from Akah? A contract? Wonderful deep russet color.

Regarding the PDM question, I do quite a bit of my own research as I did twenty years ago when many of us in NAPCA contributed to Jan's production of Axis Pistols. I think you will find my name mentioned at the beginning of the police section. It begins with a W. There have been a number of historical works over the years that explain more clearly the development of the Nazi police state that call into question the time line for the production of the PDM contract.

P08, Jason explained the title PDM: Polizei Direktion Muenchen. There was also contract for PPs with similar production characteristics. It is believed that the factory issue holsters for the PPs were produced in 1935 by the Huber firm in Munich.

What is curious is that there was also a Polizei Direktion Nuremberg of which Himmler was also chief, but never has a PDN Walther been observed.

Just one question, wasn't James Bond's first gun a Beretta M34???

I can't remember if the model was identified in "Moonraker". I think it was just a Beretta caliber 6.35mm. He had to turn it in to M or Q in the first chapter, didn't he. And it was replaced with the Walther PPK caliber 7.65mm.

You're correct. I had forgotten the first one.
