Hello everybody,
Here is a mauser which has been presented to me.
The "bcd 4" + WaA 749 looks quite normal but there are some points I can't explain so I'm asking for your help!
"bcd 4" is for Gustloffwerke, Weimar
"avk" is for Ruhrstahl AG, Presswerk Brackwede-Bielefeld
"Be" is supposed to be for Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik, Arthur Krupp AG, Berndorf, Austria but the big "B" is strange, isn't it? Is it not supposed to be a small "b"?
This 98k has all matching numbers (1993u) excepted the piece on the top with the number "00200" (German??)
Small information: the "AN" mark that you can see two times on the first picture is from the National French Weaponry in charge of the neutralization.
How can we explain the "avk" and the "Be" on the same part?
Is really this "Be" the mark for Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik or is it somethingelse?
Is there something bad with this 98k?
Thanks a lot for your help!!!
Max
