I've never dealt with it, but seeing as it's from 1958 and ComBloc, I would bet the farm it's corrosive. But it's not a big deal.....just means you have to clean your can't just throw your rifle in the closet without cleaning it. Just wash it out with soap and water and maybe a little windex and voila.......good as done. Pretty much, if you're gonna shoot surplus, you're gonna shoot corrosive.

It is good ammo. It is corrosive which is no big deal for someone who takes care of their firearms. best wishes,

          mp44 ammo

There was a vendor selling the 8mm kurtz ammo at knob creek the past 4 shows...it is non corrosive and reloadable brass cased...cannot remember the name of the vendor...the ammo comes in light blue boxes with spanish writing...and cost about fifty cents a round. Maybe one of the other guys knows the names of vendor and ammo manufacturer.

Yep, I always squirt some Windex with ammonia first on all the parts and in the barrel and scrub, and then wash with warm soapy water. I've read the ammonia in small concentrations neutralizes the potassium salts corrosive ammo leaves behind.
