    Zeroing Zf41 scope?

In case it was passed over when I tacked on to the end of the earlier sniper K98k thread, I'll ask again.
How was the Zf41 scope zeroed in on a K98k?
You've got elevation adjustment on the scope itself, but how were they adjusted for windage?
The rifle's mount is a machined bar on the side of the sight block, which theoretically must be parallel with the bore, but surely that can't be all they relied on?
Granted you're talking about a 1 1/2x long-eye-relief sight which wasn't the best set up, but you'd want it to be on target.
Also, possibly dealt with on an earlier thread, were those (reproduction) Zf41 bases which screw on in place of the usual sight base actually used in WW2?
Hope someone can clear this one up!

    .

    Hi.

The ZF41 was zeroed in from the factory, and you need a specialtool for this, wich fit in to the two rails in the front of the tube. But take a look at this site, it has a lot of great info about the ZF41 scope ( If i remember right, the instruction on how the sighting is adjusted also is there)

    Best regards

        Zeroing Zf41 scope

        Thanks for that guys,
It's a long time since I sold my K98k to which I fitted a Zf41/1, so I haven't an example to hand to see where that windage adjustment was carried out but Softail's link shows it clearly.
I'd like to know why all the info available seems to be in Japanese sites? Well done to them, but is there no-one nearer home who's carried out this work?
The list of serial numbers in the database, with all the other details, is most informative.
        Thanks again,
        Phil Blaikie
