7.65 mm Browning rounds are .32, don't ask me why I just collect this stuff!
wouldn't Walther who made this pistol be more likely to use the 7.65 m/m that is in all their other 7.65 mm pistols which would be .32 ? how would someone know to chamber the .30 luger 7.65 m/m and not the 7.65 m/m .32?

ok, now i'm really lost.
does this hp shoot a 7.65 m/m like th rounds you put in a walther pp or ppk, etc?
or is it a different length than those, but same width?

Ok: Lets try to take a slightly different approach to answering this question. The 9mm Luger round is basically a straight sided cartridge with, you got it, a 9mm bullet. The 30(7.65) Luger round is about the same overall length as the 9mm luger and the base of both cartridges is the same size. However the case for the 30 Luger is tapered down to use a 7.65mm bullet. This allows for use of the same magazine in both calibers.

Check this - scroll down to the second picture and read the description to the right. Note the comment about the cartridge feeding and firing in the C96 pistol. Definately not recommended! Also, this cartridge will feed and fire in the T14 Nambu pistol - again not recommended.
