I got it. I contacted the seller: the thing I didn't know is that after sliding part A and B together, you have to make a quarter turn counter clockwise.
It said this also in the link you provided RUHL13, thank you, and you too Time Bandit.

Great to finally hold one of these in my own hands! I've stood drooling over numerous examples in musea, holding the real thing though: awesome!

I have the MP40, on a loan basis, just to see the actual weapon, and well, it came in two parts and seeing that it's the first time I'm actually holding an MP40 I just can't seem to put them together!

Maybe a picture will clarify this:

You see, I can't fit A and B together, though I don't see any obstructions or the likes. This is why I would appreciate it tremendously if anyone could tell me what to do, or point me in the right direction.

I know, amateur hour, but hey, there's a first time for everything, right?
      Hi Panthera
From your last post, it sounds like you no longer have any assembly problems and this reply
is way too late, but for anyone else in our position, I have found that at assembly or disassembly
it helps if the trigger is pulled which sinks the sear out of the way, allowing the main body & receiver
to rotate freely. If the trigger is not squeezed, then the sear obstructs any rotational movement, acting
in much the same way as the sprung loaded locking stud.
I recenty bought an mp40 so I recognise and can relate to everything in your thread. I've dreamt of
owning an mp40 since i was just a young kid. The design is awsome. A great piece of ww2 history.

I have no problems anymore, but thank you anyway. You're kind to help. Good luck with your MP40. Great to hear you found one too! It's a beautiful weapon and piece of history.

That is the difference between Belgium and the USA.

          Peter,

I wasn't following the discussion the last week, but I do not agree with you.
AK's can be collected following Belgian law, you just have to give a right theme for your collection. example " Weapons used by Warschawpact counties" is completely legit.
With the theme I have I can buy AK's without problems,...
I agree with you that not every state/province is using the same critres to give a license.
Are you already member of a collectors association? If not contact me.

          Regards,

          FRANK

I would love to own an AK(full auto) but the prices for the registered ones are way too high. But a semi auto(with 6 US parts, stupid rule) will cost you only 100-500 depending on the model.
