    Red 9

    Anyone have an idea approximately the retail value of a Mauser Red 9 Broom in 95-96% condition? The rig comes with a matching stock in fair cond (iron s.n. on the stock matches the gun) and the leather holster in 98%+ cond. w/original cleaning rod. I don't have a pic or I would post it; just looking for general thoughts on such a rig. It has been offered to me recently but so few turn up with a complete matching rig, it is hard for me to put a number on it.

    Careful there Doc, lots of these are faked-up in part and in whole.

      The last time I saw a legit set(3 years ago) it sold for 3750.00.

          Good point on the faking....whats a red 9 worth in good-exc. cond. (if legit) minus the stock/leather? If the other stuff turns up questionable, I might just make an offer on the gun only.

            The pistol alone runs between 850 and 1500 depending on who has it, condition, etc.

              A lot of "red 9s" were made up from the zillion or so junker imports from red china in the 80s
              Check for proper rear sight-9mm different from 7.63.
              In the condition you describe the price is a steal.
              800-1500 very lowball for a real red 9.

                Thanks for all the feedback guys. I took the plunge and bought the rig today at the TMCA military show for $2400 (he is a good friend of mine, so he knocked off 100 bucks)...he also said I could return it if it was fake.

                Well here we go with the pics.....
