The G43 I use ,I paid $150.00 back in 1979. And the reason I have that one still is because of the serial number. The serial # is 69 no letter block for a AC 43. Kinda funny ha. If you know what I mean. Thats when I was young. Its one of the lowest serial # recorded for AC 43

Another rifle I lug around is a model 270 win. I like that the best. Its very light less kick than the K98. A little less knock down power. A much lighter to carry. I know this is off the subject.

SVW1945 I will pay you double what you paid for that G43

I know that G43s are still out their but they are almost impossible to afford. Thanks to Bill Clinton my dad gets cheated on his retirement so now their is no way to afford one of these, maybe though I could find a vet with one and they usually sell their stuff cheap.

I think you are young enough to have alot more time to find one than some of us.I know alot of these rifles are in collections. There are still some vets out there with them. I just got a 1944 Dot k98 for $ 600.00 right from the vet. So there still out there. Back in the 70,s they were cheap. I remember getting k98,s for $ 75 to $ 150.

                  Josh,
You're right that $600 is alot of money. But it is a fair price for a decent all matching vet bringback.
The best value for WWII bringback military rifles right now are the Italian rifles. They are still very reasonable and if the prices of the Japanese rifles continue to climb as they are then you will probably see more interest growing in the Italian rifles.
I started a small collection a few years ago. Everytime I see a decent bringback I try to pick it up. Sometimes you can still find them under $100.

                      Josh,
I see quite a few Italian rifles around from $75 to $250. About half are imports and half bringbacks.
There are lots of different variations and manufacturers of Carcanos. FNA-Brescia, Terni, Gardone, Beretta. So they can keep you busy and not break the bank.
These Italian Carcano rifles were in wide spread use in WWII and used by the Germans as well. Lots of them came home because they are a light and handy rifle.
You hear these guys talking about German rifles $75, 30 years ago or Lugers for $35, 40 years ago. I think now is time to strike on the Italian front because they will start climbing in the years to come. Buy now while they are reasonable and not high like the rest of this stuff. You'll look back and say "20 years ago I bought my M-38 Beretta for $120 and now they are asking xxxx for them!
These are the good old days.

The vet I bought the rifle from ,Was on wellfare,And he needed money.I,m not out there to hose are vets. So I thought giving him the best price for the rifle that I thought. Remember K98,s aren't cheap any more. I try to give a fair price to any one I buy from.I don,t try to steal from people,And make a huge profit. If you ever go to the SOS Show or the Ohio gun show, You will be lucky to find a all matching K98 for under $ 600.00
