Unidentified Flare gun

This flare gun was found last week by a friend of mine with the scope in austria. We have no idea what for a flare gun this is. I think its not WWII, but maybe WWI.
Can anybody help to identify this flare gun ...

Hello, I believe it to be Just before WWII, and no doubt used in WW2.

It has a breech that opens similar to the Vz 30 Czech flarepistol, and one might have been a similar copy of the other. The Vz 30 as its name implies was designed in 1930, and the earliest production versions I have seen are dated '33 (1933).

Due to its less sophisticated construction, The Hungarian version might be as early as WWI, but I doubt it.

Got the information that this flare gun was found in a forest where the
hungarian and german army throw away a lot of stuff.
So this flare gun was definatly used also in WWII ...

Hello, The AB marking on the gripstrap? stands for Atvaz B, a maker located in Budapest Hungary. My flaregun is also marked Bp (shield) 22 which means it is military accepted and manufactured in 1922. Photo's to come shortly. Mine has no serial number visable. Good Collecting, signalman

Thank you, There are ~ 850 different variations, with many duplicates of rare models. I cannot seem to stop buying the rare versions. I have the photo, I am just trying to figure out how to list it.
