Other war-used Whitworths can be found in Nashville(Tenn.State Museum;gun used by sharpshooter Frank Schell,Army of Tennessee,C.S.A.)That's why I'm having one made(copy from patent plans)for my own shooting amusement.

I live in Memphis, next time I go to Nashville, I'll have to go check it out. Thanks for the info.

That particular Whitworth rifle was actually donated to the Tennessee Museum by Gen.A.P.Stewart years after the war,who had previously been given the gun by (sniper)Frank Schell .This gun is scoped.It is also thoroughly pictured in my book
The Confederate Whitworth Sharpshooters(along with a number of others.)
Almost forgot;there's another Whitworth rifle at the Chickamauga Battlefield Museum(Fullerton collection.)That's just south of Chattanooga.
It's also thoroughly treated in the book...

I have a pretty broad collection of representative rifles of the WW2 combatants, and nuetral countries. i am now specializing on axis small arms principally German. I also collect Wehrmacht fied gear and anything associared with WW2 German infantry.

I went to a gun show in Nashville and heard a guy tell another he had a buddy who was trying to sale a real Whitworth. He said the guy was in Alabama. Is this where the one you know about is?

Polish and Nazi Radoms

Main focus is the Radom P35 - 20 years strong 1936-1945. Also odd radoms(partisan,and odd numbering). Few K98s

I'm not at home to look in my files but the privately owned gun I know of is in the Midwest-think it is in Ohio.Definitely not in Alabama.
The owner sent me good black and white pictures of it(has the Davidson scope.)It,too,is in the 2nd.edition of my book...

My interest

I have a fairly unfocused pile of militaria, but I have decided to focus on Czech produced variants of WWII German rifles - Brunn or Bystrica k98, G33/40, G24t, etc.

We'll see how I do.
