I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the stamp is bogus.

I’ve been collecting Third Reich and Axis pistols, holsters, daggers and militaria for over 40 years and have never seen that mark. The mark looks newer than the holster leather. It looks like it was carved very recently. It’s too deep and too distinct. If it were 75 years old on the holster leather it would not look that neat. There should be an eagle above the mark and the circles should not inter-connect or join together. What type of holster is it? If you don’t know what holster type it is please post a complete set of photos. The Kriegsmarine typically used specific type issued pistols and holsters. In any case you will never find another mark like it unless it was done post war by the same person. Google Kriegsmarine pistol and/or holsters to see what the marks should look like. There is also no military, police, SS or any other NAZI Party Organization marked holster where you will find that mark.

I respectfully disagree. I collect Kriegsmarine and the "swastica over M in two circles" is an original Kriegsmarine stamp, found on different items leather, metal, .... I can not 100% guarantee the originality of the stamp on the holster shown here because I am not the owner and I don't know the provenance, but it looks perfectly to me. I have and I have seen items stamped "swastica over M in two circles" that came first or second handed from the battlefield or out of hands of a former KM member, ranging from relics to good condition, that bear this markings which are far less common than the eagle over M, that is probably why you have never noticed it before, sometimes very faint, sometimes deep carved.

Laser thanks for your input and information. I stand corrected on the stamp since it apparently was used on other items. However, the stamp on this holster looks like it was made yesterday. If the holster is for a Walther PP pistol I have never seen a Kriegsmarine marked PP pistol or PP holster. Although I have learned to never say never in this hobby I believe the stamp on the holster to be a post war fake in order to boost the value of the holster. The Kriegsmarine did not issue Walther PP pistols or holsters.

Everybody learns on this forum, that's wat is great about it :-)! I see on the pictures a Kriegsmarine Mauser 1934 holster with original markings, at the place where I expected them.
