Whatever the outcome i will be hanging on to my deacs.

And with the government having no idea who owns what there is plenty of scope for a thriving black market.
      No probs then.........

      Steve.

              Second reading.

              Dear all,

The second reading of the bill is here.It would appear that of October 31st this year the sale of all de-acts, blank firing replicas and anything that could be mistaken for a 'real' firearm will be banned.

I have heard that one possible exemption could be that airsoft guns may continue to be sold if they are completely transparent and that way the sport could continue. We shall see...

              Regards Craig.

My main concern is not this ban on the sale of deacts, but any future legislation that may ban them all together. It will be interesting to note the price of deacts at Beltring this week... Will all of the dealers be off loading them at good prices or quite the opposite?

The price of de-acts at Beltring

A good point, any members who are at Beltring care to let us know, are they slashing prices or are they staying the same or even rising ?

                  Regards Craig

So nobody's ever going to spray paint those then?
If somebody "really wants" a replica then they'll make it out of wood, salt bread or fossilised dog crap & paint it black or whatever.
There's a toy luger from the 70's on the e-tables at the moment, only a few quid, I used to have one as a kid till it got smashed up.

It's a kids toy, it fires caps, but to a lot of people it would look real if it were pointed at them.
I know of one incident where a filling station attendant claimed that he'd been held up by a bloke with a handgun "but I'm an ex-soldier & could tell it was a replica".
                    Yeah, right.

People have sticks & pool cues pointed at them & are convinced these things are guns. Mobile phones are amazingly gun like as well to some people who report "there's a man with a gun" incidents.

This government wants to overlegislate everything to death with blunt instrument decrees that will make a mint for those involved in interpretating the law for years to come.

Anyone want to buy a mint condition boxed .177 Gat Gun before I have to hand it in for melting down?

Wonder if there'll be a day when collectors can proudly show off their collection of pointy twigs, safe in the knowledge that nobody's going to legislate against those?
Or will they sit cradling their twig, waiting for the knock at the door.........

It looks like the re-enactors at Beltring are protesting... Here is a pic from today's event.

                          And....

                          Dear All,

I wasn't there but from this and another thread I get the impression that the dealers weren't budging on de-act prices and with a few acceptions most people were not acknowledging a possible de-act ban....?

                          Regrads Craig.

I am glad that GB will be now comnpletely safe and free from all violence, once the deact/replica ban is in place. However, I am shocked at the above photograph. The man, in the photo, is clearly in possession of an IMAGE of the deadly firearms which lead to THINKING or, please say is isn't so, DREAMING of deadly firearms.

It is time for Parlimant to stand up and completely ban any image, disgussion, mention, of any deadly firearm and make sure no one will even dream of such. It is such a simple procedure, you just split the two frontal lobes of the cerebrum and all the troubles just melt away. Time forn socialized medicine to work for the puclic: IMMEDIATE MASS LOBOTOMIES FOR ALL.

                                Hi there all,
The prices of deacs, from what i saw, had not changed at all, usual special show prices but nothing more than that. Belltring was great as always, but didnt come away with much this year. I saw a fantastic deac 1943 dated mg42 for sale, but the money was not in my wallet!
                                cheers chris
