      Wow

      Well well Mr 1945.

That is an absolutely superb example of an early Laffette. As stated by Lou, all the bells and whistles.

That is the first one I recall seeing with the little used Field Grey and Chocolate camouflage. They did not use those colours for very long at all.

Most impressed. Have you had it long? or is it a new purchase?

      Regards

      Tim

I am having to place my battery pouch hanging on the rear locking lever as I have not managed to get my hands on a long light lead and plug

I presume John, that you have the long " blued" device that lives on the top of said laffete ?

I also note the very nice AA extension on the floor that retains some of its anodised green finish, hard to find in that condition.

              Nice condition optic as well.

              Regards

                  Superb lafette in extraordinary conditon.

                  What's the N° 5 signification?

The fifth laffette of the company?

I think this “Nr 5” is a number indicating the inventory number of the scope connected to the lafette?

A friend of mine own exactly the same dual tone camo lafette with the same script.
If I remember well, the number is 8.

Well, I do have one that is all original componants, but it is not original paint as it was terrible when I got. So many layers with the final one (done by the dealer I feel) being the final straw as it was all jammed up and would not function, hence my restoration job I did.

                          Still, happy enough with it.

What are the markings on the AA extension ? Waffen or Weimar ? Please feel free to show the MG........everyone likes them........or most anyway

                          Regards

                          Tim

                              Hi John,

Sorry for the tardy reply, well see attached. As stated paint job is not original. Tripod is a late 37 dated one with the correct assy front and rear mounts. Even still had the four bearings with the oiler points still fitted. I say late 37 as the search fire is 38 dated and the eagles are not Weimar.

Would be wonderful had it been in the original 3 colour, but it actually had 3 layers all over with the last one some kind of modern muck that was almost bullet proof. Very little of the original scheme.

                              Regards
