Everytime I see pictures of this scabbard the color is different... Why in the hell would someone clean it....
also the original poster is playing with it in photoshop.. As it is really different in the german forum..
But none of this really matters..
P.S. the Alcoso shooting prize is also badLast edited by damasco; 04-15-2018, 02:57 PM.

I’m not aware of an Alcoso damast dagger, that was not in that Dachau area collection as far as I know?
On the fake scabbards; the quality is WAY of, and they messed up on the parts they used.
They are easy to spot without getting too much into detail.Last edited by rob NL; 04-17-2018, 02:41 AM.

I also can not understand it Rob.... Maybe the problem ist that the dagger was cleaned and the photos look very artificial. Have a look at the actual egun sale. The photos looks totally different. You can see that the dagger has not much gold finish left only in deep areas is still gold finish. It´s a wartime worn dagger.
Not a postwar copy...

Or perhaps a Estate Sale of one of the fakers, where navy 'parts' where found ?

The scabbards that were made consists of some original parts, like the rings, but as always, they get things wrong.
The difference in the handwork is also VERY clear......
The scabbard rings used are not WKC.
The hand finishing is very sloppy and bad.
Now, as we can see, the are quite some differences in the previous not shown picture compared to an original one...
You can see the WHOLE scabbard here.Last edited by rob NL; 07-03-2018, 06:46 AM.

I know where this dagger turned up, and what collection it was in.
