Beautiful! Don't think I've ever seen a scabbard like that before.

              Wow!

Totally out of my league (I only have 1 basic Eickhorn) but it looks like a very beautiful & special dagger to me! Never seen this scrabbard design before and even the scrabbard rings are engraved

A top end collectore should be very happy with this one!

              Best Regards

              JC

The scabbard definitely makes this one a prize.

What a fantastic piece, the workmanship is top class and making one of these special chased scabbards must have taken a long time to do by a skilled craftsman, you wont get any better than that. Thanks for showing this beauty.

There is perhaps a good reason some haven’t seen one of these before. Compare to original examples. While a lot of work went into this, it looks amateurish. Look at scabbard throat fit, sloppy repetitive engraving in weird patterns, strange engraving not found on originals, running of chased lines over existing work, new and rough scabbard mouth where the scabbard was recently fitted by filing. Just my impression. I question it. Originals were quite expensive in the day, were custom ordered and were the height of the craft. All fitment engraving and fitment was exquisite.

Stratocaster, My thoughts on the scabbard also. Looks to be a modern reproduction.

While I have some Naval items these are not my specialty. That said - when I look at any type (not just daggers) of very special type of work I usually see it carried out with the entire item. Not just a part of it. Which in this case is something that's very, very, easily replaceable. FP

Because there are two of them, I think that the next item of business might be is it possible to see them side by side to what's the same, and what's different? FP
