A World Class collection of 2nd Mod. Luftwaffe dagger makers have been so generously graced here by John. Really a treat. Thank You.

I will keep my eye out for those mega rare maker variants.

Wags, I agree completely, world-class indeed. I seriously doubt if there is a collection of Luft2s out there that comes close. Something to make any collector green with envy with its bredth & scope.

I have two PDL Luft2s. Both have the same TMs and this is where I break my rule about not collecting grip, scabbard, or other non maker mark variations. The two PDLs differ in their grip configurations, one is a one wire grip the other is a two wire grip.

I guess that all rules have their exceptions, n'est-ce pas?

For the sake of completeness, I will show you both TMs, but they are the same.
Are they a common maker or less seldom seen?

Your right must be the best collection ever assembled of 2nd lufts - I am thankful everyday John Z doesn't specialize in army daggers one of the finest people I have had the good fortune to meet in this hobby.

John I saved this pic years ago and I think it was marked Holler on the other side.

Thanks, Tom, both for your kind words and for the picture... I believe that Merz is a distributor and think that I have seen this mark on a bayonet.

Blaine, Luneschloss is a rare maker for Luft2s but only valuable to someone, like me, who collects maker marks. I have seen very rare and hard to find makers going for the same price as Eickhorns or SMFs.
