Thoughts to Ponder...
I have literally 30 trusted folks in the past week I have emailed & called about this. Respected Dealer Friends & Collecting Friends. Right now it is about 50/50 on opinions. Probably combined 630 years of collecting experience combined. I am grateful for you all for sure!!! You know who you are and you guys on WAF tonight as well. VERY APPRECIATIVE! Be kind to one another. There are big differences of opinions on this one. SEE BELOW.
Ponder #1: Some Comments Dealers and Collectors
It was mentioned the cross grain looked reworked. If it's blade was redone, it was done by a master. Maybe the pictures I took outside were hard to see? Why then would someone refinish the blade, etch a new logo over the old area, etch a new motto on, then sharpen it as is obvious on the edge of the blade near the ricasso? After all that put it in to a scabbard for runner marks. H looks applied after logo was etched on.
Ponder #2: Some Comments Dealers and Collectors
Logos were generally very light. This one looks too strong. Also I see pitch and cross grain looks too strong. I think a reworked piece. Also the logo is over another logo!!!
The good news is I am having a smoke. Bad news is I am still no closer to knowing the real scoop.

Rossi,
I,m still not convinced, never seen this type of Puma logo before & never seen it used on an early hj knife, also there is no Solingen Ges Geschutzt below the logo, the letters P & A should touch the outside diamond border line on the Puma logo used for hj knifes.

Rossi,
if you do a search on here for Puma hj knife you will find lots of threads with photos of the Puma trademark logo used from early to Transitional period knifes,
The logo on your knife is fake but is similar to the Puma logo used on early SA daggers, see link below:
