I have a German Sword, brass, leather and steel, that I have been told is an honor sword from either a military school or unit. The sword has engraving of the date and name of the award i.e. 1t comp, Gustav Schul, 1876. the earliest engraved date that I can find is 19 Oct 1865 and one of the names is Gottf. Keselring. The dates go into the late 1930's. There is a portion of the sword that has the names and dates filed off. Been told these were people killed in the pusch.
I acquired this sword in a small town near Halle, Germany around 5 - 10 May 1945. Any information would be appreciated.
I have a picture of the sword but don't know how to get it posted (I'M NEW TO THE SITE) Joe Peterburs
