    Luft Generals Degen...Veteran aquired

With the day shot by rain, thought I would share my hidden secret with my fellow collectors.
I bought this directly from the 74 year old veteran himself back in 1996. He was a member of the 29th infantry division and he brought this home as his trophy. along whit a few other items which I also bought.

The guilding remains about 60% to the lettering and the blued panels about 75%. Looks worse than what it is because of the flash. I do have a longing question on the degen...There is only one marking on the fittings to the degen and that is the 0 between the folding guards. Anyone know what that would represent?

    Enjoy

Other than the makers logo and the ornate blade, this is the marking I have been want to know about.

                Beautiful Eickhorn logo.

                A beautiful and rare degen.

I would love to know who owned this one but I'm sure that will never happen. I have talked to the veteran a couple of time since the purchase and asked if he remembers what town he liberated it from but he does not.

Anyway, I just want to share this with you because you don't see them everyday.

Sorry guys, this one I will never sell.

That's the biggest problem, it didn't come in a scabbard. Just to own a rare piece like this, even without the scabbard, well, I don't mind.
