I think if someone changed the eagle on the dagger, he would put a nice eagle ... and not corroded. In this thread is a logical explanation:

It does not matter. This ss dagger is a fine, original, unexplored, nothing altered, just a little corroded eagle. No one and nothing to disprove this fact. Sometimes in the past it happened that dagger was maturing in such a way that the corrosion on the eagle was possible. nothing more to tell you this. thee from the table from the other side of the world it well says that something is wrong, but you have no idea what was past daggers, where it was found, and so on. So please do not write hasty conclusions that may harm other people. Thanks, Charlie

you can make fun of it ... but I think in a good way. I know from whom I bought a dagger and where it was found, so I can not agree with thy opinion that the dagger is something wrong ... cheaters in the world a lot, I'm still fighting with them, so I also gave a lifetime careful on what and from whom you are buying.
