Mr Weinand once again makes use of the "late-war" sinkhole so beloved by dealers. How do you know that the knife you mentioned a couple of posts back was MADE in 1944? It could just as easily be an NOS knife made prior to the ban. You consistently fail to provide proof for your increasingly shaky presence here in defence of Wittmann and the little junk knives that started this thread and you continue to come across as nothing more than a Wittmann shill. You have surely not forgotten that you sold these little junk knives in the past? Where was your proof back then? I suggest that it should be YOU who politely backs out of the conversation because it will only make you look worse than is already the case..

      fakes after 1943

jo rivet, thanks for that info on the production of daggers after 1943 I always wondered how was it possible for Germany to still produce edged weapons with such a metal shortage it makes one wonder just how much of my collection is real??

I honestly don't see how anyone can see these as any more than common camp/hunting style knives with the HJ diamond added to the scabbard post war, given a cock and bull story, and abara cadabra Late war variant! Some how these got past the RZM and were war time produced? These are obviously put together. There's not even an inset for the diamond to properly sit in, just a couple holes drilled into the scabbard.

Aluminium is the key as well as no RZM stampings !!

Maybe the germans started to use Zinc to build there planes because they needed all the Aluminium possible in times of metal shortage to make DJ Knifes

          Dealers Bullsh#t

Yes the whole thing doesn't make sense. Late war they even stopped bayonet production but they continued on with these and using aluminum while the regular late HJ knives used zinc? "Ferries where boots and you got to believe me" LOL.

The dealers and believers will go on defending these, claiming the non believers are wrong, don't know what they're talking about, don't have the experience, etc.. I don't see anything changing.

Absolutely. Hopefully serious collectors spend their earned cash on the real thing.

                            Question:

Would The Dealers pay back all the money in full refunds for these bogus post war DJ knifes when everybody who bought them find out there crap ? or would they hide behind the likes of T Wittmann & his cronies saying they are genuine end off so piss off ?

Likely the latter. I checked and T Wittman's site is still listing these for sale as period originals. The 2 he has are plain scabbard/plain handles and 1 is listed as "Late DJ Knife". Opening description:
"This 'DJ' Knife is the style that doesn't have the swastika applied on the scabbard. This probably was is a example of 'last ditch' production."
Of course it has all aluminum hilt mounts(real late HJ examples have zinc), no RZM mark or any mark what so ever. It can be yours for $795!! With no markings or insignia how can these be attributed to the DJ/HJ especially with written evidence that put a stop to all production of party knives late war?

For several years now I will not buy or sell these knives. I try to deal in the "current consensus" whether I agree or not.
For decades no-one ever had a problem with the die flawed S+L RK or the DKiG with the lines in the date. I think it was Dave Kane who decided both were fake and they were worse then the plague at that point. I did argue until I was blue they were real, now they are considered real again. These fall intot the same category. I won't buy or sell one but......
By the way, I would prefer to be shot vs. !
                                Best Wishes,
