Well Kevin and Ed said it all I too have seen quite a few Horster army daggers with these Pack fittings and they certainly are a light weight metal that had a silver plate at one time. A nice dagger I would say mid period as it exhibits some nice hand work and you can see on the tang it was ground to fit the grip.
