Questions About an NSKK and SA Dagger

I purchased these two daggers quite some time ago and am considering selling one of them. I know the one with the black sheath is an NSKK and the brown is an SA. I looked up the RZM codes online and believe the NSKK is an Eickhorn and the SA is made by C. D. Schaaf.

Before I list one of these for sale I wanted to ask about the dagger assembly. The handles on both wiggle a bit as do the top crossguards.

Also, the handle on the SA dagger has a bit of space on both sides between the wood and the crossguard and the eagle on the SA dagger is raised above the wood whereas the NSKK is flush with the wood.

Are these things signs of age and wear or is it more likely these daggers were pieced together sometime after the war?

I want to be as honest and accurate as possible when I decide to sell one of these.

    THANKS!

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that a set of anodized aluminum crossguards I'm seeing on the SA dagger?? FP

Frogprince - What would that indicate?

Simply that aluminum was one of the precursor materials to zinc after the use of nickel silver was discontinued. FP

They look like aluminium indeed, but aluminium crossguards are OK too in case of some RZM daggers.
I don't like the handle of the Eickhorn dagger. It seems that the grip or the crossguards do not belong to the blade.

I agree, I don't like Eickhorn grip too.

Seems to me C.D. Schaaf blade was buffed or heavy polished, may be the crossgrain don't survived.

I had see very few (about four) C.D. Schaaf daggers until now, mine included. Three of them with zinc plated crossguards and nickel silver eagles. And this one bellow with similar crossguards and zinc (may be replaced) eagle.

Thanks to everyone for the input so far. Guess I'll list the NSKK dagger on the forum and/or eBay and say that it is likely a parts dagger. Any more information is definitely appreciated.

Which is something that I was familiar with, and the dagger posted here reminding me of a brief conversation years ago at a show with one of the TR dagger “über Experten”. Who was not at all amused when I pointed out that the crossguards on the dagger he was looking at were anodized aluminum - but the scabbards he had just described as “anodized” (brown and blue) were not. With both of us being at a show where the tables around him had a large number of TR era “anodized” German pistols, rifles, and bayonets. FP
