There were many manufactures of daggers and chains. The dies did vary slightly plus the dies did wear down so the details became less pronounced as time when on. My example is very early as the skull details are the best I have ever seen or owned before.

John, I have not studied the chain as I am still having my morning tea, but if you look on the top dagger fellow's sites there are about 20 chained SS daggers for sale and maybe you can locate your style,
