I agree with RHhunter and Wolfeknives.
There is no question that the Rohm dedication is a fake. Has the "Fat T" -

Grips don't fit to crossguard. Large "step".

It's a parts "Humped-up" fake, made to deceive the novice. -Sorry-

Do a "search" on "Rohm dagger" and compare letter to letter next to this example.

What are we talking about? Look at the crossguards - they are TYPICAL SUHL crossguards i.e. Haenel, Kober or Sauer, see the smaller "step" (those who don't know what Suhl crossguard is, better buy the right book a.s.a.p. ) . Gau marking SA is well known for Suhl daggers as well. To the top of it all SMF daggers are not recognised by Fisher or McAlvanah as issued to Sachsen territorial group. These are facts backed up by reference literature.
My personal opinion about the dedication: it's post war, as the etching looks different than logo, but of course I can be wrong about it.

casey76 - Research the forum as was already stated and study a good Rohm etch. It is easy for some here to dispute authenticity because many of us have studied daggers for many years. Providing proof to you makes it too easy. Do some homework based on what you have just read, buy some books and then refute what is stated. The burden of proof does not rest on these fine gentlemen that took time to give an opinion.

By the way, this is not a condition 1 dagger. It's a buffed up dagger meant to deceive.

If that were true condition 1 Rohm dagger would be worth much more than 4000EUR and would sell with one phone call.

I totally agree with the comments on this dagger,post war inscription and I would run for the hills!
If you want a fantastic Rohm,pm me as mine is still for sale,more than €4000 but is there a better one out there for sale at the moment,I think not.

For what it's worth, I agree with what the others have said...save your money on this one - definitely a parts/altered piece and the condition is a long. long way from mint

Unfortunately I don't have an SMF to compare, but I think you'll find that all the comparison daggers available won't grow horns on this doe. It has a highly suspect inscription with the maker's mark in the wrong place, and the blede appears to have been buffed to try and add an aged look. There's no way it would be for me.
