    Dagger Parts & Restos

Most of those that have been collecting for a while, at one time or another will be in need of a part for a dagger. If it's an SA dagger, Army or Luft, you're in luck. If it's a Water Protection Police........ God help you. And as I've explained to other collectors, then comes the challenge to adapt a certain part to fit your dagger. Anyone that has tried to do this will find out that even a simple pommel nut off of one SA will not fit another blade tang. As you may know, parts can be expensive. Recently a nickel silver SA/SS grip eagle was in the e-stand for around $50. When it come to purchasing parts for a dagger that is missing something or has a damaged piece on it, a collector needs to evaluate how much they will spend to bring a particular piece back to what it should be. My "two-cents"; don't even bother - MOST of the time, the return is not worth the cost and/or frustration . . .

P.S. JR - Yes, that is a nice grip assembly . . . when are we going to see you mate it up with a matching blade? When you do, it will be interesting to see just what particular blade proves to be the proper match . . .

It is indeed a challenge to match parts up to a dagger or sword that is missing a piece. The grip assembly that I show is 100% Hammesfahr and will fit the shoulder of an SS blade fairly easily when compared to say making a lone grip fit a set of crossguards etc.

          Quality.......

WOW ....... that is really a top Quality Gott. Hamm. Grip & Guards!!!

Someone with a great SS 33 Hamm. Blade, but a crushed / bashed grip would do well to seriously consider this combo.

Can't 'swap' between makers of SS 33's very well - but within the same Maker & same Model, there is a great deal of consistency, in my experience.

The various RZM SS Daggers 'seem' to be more uniform in interchangeability than the SS 33's...

          What a NICE Item!! ...... Txs, Dave/dblmed
