I just came across this guy selling a collection of four daggers, SS, Luftwaffe navy and army. As I am primarily into cloth, I know nothing about these but I might have stumble across a good oppertunity. I would appretiate some comments and guidance regarding originality and value of these pieces. Kriegsmarine . Jacques

Hi Jaques
Of the 4 daggers you show, only the Army appears to be OK. The Kriegsmarine dagger appears to be postwar as well. Horster continued to produce daggers post war and they have some distinguishing characteristics including and etched logo instead of stamped and the wire feed holes in the grip.
Good luck

That is a nice looking repro. I know there are several folks out there who intentionally collect repros for study and recreation.
I cannot stomach the thought of any in my collection. That being said, they certainly do fill a void and display nicely. I guess it's simply a question of what one can tollerate and what thier budget threshold is.
Either way, like stated, it does look nice.

These Naval Repro's are about all anyone can afford.
The originals cost more than an average home, so very few collectors own them. I know three dealers who own them, but no plain jane collector.
Now if i had this it would be labled as a repro , but displayed with the real

So the above Dagger is definatley fake?
I have just picked one up in a collection, had never seen one before ,
could some one point out what makes it a fake, can't seem to find anything on the forum? it's the exact same as the one above.
Just want to be sure it's wrong before I give away a dagger which is worth the price of a house
