I know it a bit better, so dont talk Crap when you know nothing. Very simpel. When i offer 800 he will not have sold it to him for 260.

A friend was bidding 1.000 but it was sold .. maybe you dont know such a thing but in germany there are people when they say you can have it for 260€ you can get it for 260€ and then it is sold. And when someone linke you offers 800€ it doesnt care ...

Maybe you can get it now .. and you even dont know what i was bidding

        @BenVK

congratulations to that cap its very nice, a collector friend told me that the maker is probably Robert Lubstein, Berlin [LUB]

Echt jetzt Na du bist der richtige Weihnachts Clown. Once again, dont talk Crap when you dont know zero. He payed a lot more for that Cap then 260, and thats a fact. So i can only repeat, get your Crap straight before you write it. And i still have the Message from the Seller here, where he told me not enough. And then another one with the real Price for that it was indeed sold. But since Ben is a Friend of mine, i will not post here how much he payed for it. And now.....Merry Christmas

              Nice cap Ben and congratulations.
The word rustic does come to mind on this one.
As for maker, I think it's a Robert Lubstein and an early example (late 1940/very early 1941).

              Regards,

              Mark

The reinforcement washers to the grommets look to be magnetic showing a bit of rust Mark,

Did RL use magnetic reinforcement washers in 1940, early 1941 ?

I really wish I had got it for only 260 euro!!!
Could have bought a bigger turkey for Christmas lunch!

Thanks for the Lubstein suggestion, I'll take a look at the lining again now.

Agree here! Notable to me is the way Lubstein sewed his rosettes....very small stitches.... that and the overall confirmation indicate a Lubstein. Nice score Ben!

                      Robt.
Ps..... hard desert wear took its toll on RL inkstamps, most are very hard to see or plainly gone.

Absolutely Robert, those small stitches on the cockade are one indicator. It also helps that I have an untouched early em's Rifle Regiment by the same maker sitting in my study. My favourite cap in the collection from my favourite manufacturer.

Ben, I've added a picture of what I would expect to see in the way of markings. Hopefully you'll see some traces.

Very nice cap and a desirable Waffenfarbe Ben.
