    These 3rd type had no stiffener as far as I’ve seen, either behind or outside of the lining.
    With the additional photos I too have no doubt that the band is original to the cap.

        First time i can see an issue Bergmütze with a leather like that ...
        a reinforcement band at the top !
        It looks like a civilian hat band sewn reversed !
        With these new pics we can see this band is original sewn on the cap .

          I've seen a similar leather band with fabric trim like this before but can't remember what cap it was attached to.

            Thank you all for your comments. This cap is fabulous IMO, and the tunic that accompanied it is as well.

            I have no knowledge of these caps, although I own a few.

              Beautiful cap, and thanks for posting. I have a very similar one in my collection and like you, don't specialize in these but sure like the look.
