Ben, no, but it was sold on Emedals back in August of 2017.

              Hi stonemint,
I Know that Welhausen is one of your favorites.

Is this The „normal“ stitching to stitch the sweatband on a welhausen cap?

              Br Christian

The sweatband stitching on Welhausen caps can be either hand stitched like this and also this one:

Or machine stitched such as this one.

What is uncommon, at least for me, is the trikot cover of the SS cap. That's not the typical fabric for Welhausen. One other observation, the lining is a bit of mess in this cap. Compare with the neat and tidy pleats in the Pz cap.

I cannot say anything more about it based on these photos, a hands on inspection would be needed to form a complete judgment.

Based on my amateur opinion, I kinda like it, but it might be above my pay grade. The difference in wear between the mint inside of the visor brim and sweatband on the one hand and the condition of the liner and pleats bothers me. J

I think something is fishy here.

I have 3 Welhausens and all three have the pleating sides joined in the front and not on the sides like shown here.
Also the sweatband stitching is usualy machine stiched in the rear half of the cap and hand stitched with stronger thread under the visor itself, and in my younger days that made me think the visor was replaced until i got more of them and saw that all the 3 examples I have are stitched in that manner.
Also notice that the top cloth is doeskin on all three.

Sorry for the bad pics (One arm in cast with a broken wrist)
