From a Fake and a Altesste post war parts cap - to a original late war cap

Because of the 3 negative comments I almost sent the cap back to the seller...

They are original but you would have wait to see late model zinc insignias. But you never know, the producer could have had some early insignias like this in stock and attached them to the visor.
Or they can have been changed post-war ?
And it is not uncommon finding metal insignias on officer visors.

Schalnge that is the hole after the one sprong from the kokarde that is broken of.

A couple of collectors have contacted me stating Luftwaffe officer visors never came with metal insignias. Only with billion cap insignias.
Is this correct ?

Metal insignia and Officers visors technically shouldn't not exist..metal eagle are seen on White Luftwaffe officers cap..it would be exceptional to see metal on Officers caps but I'm sure there are a few exceptions to the rule..and some fotos out there to back this up...Billbert

But the possibility this cap is one of these is very small I would think.

Probably a unused cap put on wrong insignias or a ribbed cap put on wrong insignias.
